After some time in the workshop after their initial American only release of the limited edition Cricut Expression 2, Provo Craft are shipping a fully fledged sequel to their industry changing electronic scrapbooking & die cutting powerhouse the Cricut Expression (1). Available soon, the Cricut Expression 2 will ship to the Australian Scrapbooking & Craft industry in October 2011 and feature a long list of additions and improvements over the previous iteration:
Introducing Cricut Expression 2 Personal Electronic Cutter. We’ve taken everything you love about Cricut Expression and made it even better. All-new machine design, bigger, full-color LCD touch screen, material setting, and a cutting-area light are just the start. Cricut Expression 2 will do everything Cricut Expression can, plus lots of exciting new features:
- All-new machine design: Even more portable, and all-new colors and finishes.
- Still 12” x 24” cutting capability: Enables large-format cutting and creating.
- Compatible with ALL Cricut cartridges – including Cricut Imagine cartridges (Cricut Imagine cartridges will just cut images, not print images or patterns).
- Larger, faster, full-color LCD touch-screen display with stylus. No keypad overlay required!
- Mat Preview: See shapes you’re cutting and where they fit on the mat before you cut!
- Material Setting: Choose a default setting for materials you like to cut (cardstock, regular paper, chipboard, etc) OR customize a material setting just how you want it.
- Cutting-Area Light: A light underneath the cutting area to let you see where you’re cutting on the mat.
- Layer View: See all creative features and layers right on the screen, including shift layers. No need to keep referring back to the handbook!
- Independent Image Sizing: Now you can size each image on a mat on its own! Make one image 3”, another image 5 ½”, and so on – all on the same mat. It’s totally up to you.
- Multiple Mat Cutting: Now you can cut as many images as you want, even if the images won’t all fit on one mat. Use up to 6 mats! Simply input the number of images you’d like, press cut, and the machine will prompt you when to load the next mat.
- Apply All: Apply all the edits (scale, flip, rotate, etc.) you do for one image to all the images on a mat at the same time with just one button.
- Cartridge content pre-loaded on the machine (Cricut Essentials and Cricut Alphabet).
- Swappable side trim pieces (change the color of the side pieces).
- Image Spacing: Control the amount of space between shapes or letters on your mat.
- Pause Feature: pause cutting in the middle of a cut, then resume where you left off. Perfect for making adjustments on the fly!
