I live in Brisbane with my hubby and three children, Reagan 10, Kelsey 8 and Hayley 6 and started scrapbooking just after my son was born, since then I have found myself addicted to scrapbooking & crafts. I am adventurous with my hobby and I find myself wanting to experiment with products, I enjoy making some handmade embellishments, cutting and doodling but I don’t know that I have a particular style, I do like a busy layout and don’t mind off the page or the odd card. I like my projects to tell a story and hold lots of memories for the children, one day I hope they will carry it on & share my passion (I sure will have saved them some money with all the supplies I have). I have accumulated so many bits & pieces over the years and even now, every time I walk into my craft room I still feel like a child in a candy store. I love scrapbooking and hope that you will (or do )too, as creating & sharing memories, adding your own twist to them and being part of this unique community really is something special.
I come from a crafty background having done quilting, embroidery and sewing for many years. Although I have done layouts, my passion is for off the page projects especially when I can recycle items such as vintage suitcases and give them a new lease of life. My inspiration comes from both paper ranges and found objects – the whole process of planning how to put the whole project together from which papers to use, which embellishments to add and even the practical aspect of how to attach papers is a challenge I find immensely enjoyable and deeply satisfying. Prior to joining Print Blocks, I have worked in two scrapbook stores and was fortunate to be able to teach classes in those stores encouraging women to think outside the square and be open to new possibilities.
I have been married for 22 years and have 3 children (one who still lets me photograph her the other two, not so much) I started my “career” in the craft industry as a customer of Print Blocks back in 1996 when my sister in law and I started our own party plan business selling Rubber Stamps.
I loved travelling around Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast doing workshops. The best part of my job was watching people’s faces when they embossed a stamped image for the first time and you knew that they too were hooked. As a stamper I was never going to go over to the “dark side” but… Now I mostly scrapbook although I still do like to stamp up some images and watercolour them every now and then. I have worked in the industry since then teaching classes at conventions and stores around Australia. My work has been published here in Australia and also in the USA, but I mostly enjoy scrapbooking or cardmaking just for me.
I am 38yrs of age and have 2 gorgeous daughters 6 and 2 that you will see feature in most of my scrapping, I have been with my darling husband for nearly 20yrs and married for 9yrs and live in Logan, Queensland. I have been scrapping for about 8yrs and love the fact that it is just for me and therefore keeps me sane when everything else in my life seems to be going mad. Scrapbooking really is cheaper than therapy ..or that’s what I tell my hubby anyway! My scrapping style has changed over the years and I find myself in love with clusters of flowers and pretty things which probably comes from having 2 beautiful girls. I have a love of stationery and feed that love constantly with new scrapping supplies (psst…don’t tell that to my hubby), there is nothing like finding or making that perfect embellishment and the satisfaction of a finished page just the way you envisioned it. I love trolling the internet to find inspiration in other things and marvel at how clever some people are. I only hope that I can inspire others the way they inspire me.
